Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

  2. 2

Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place one slice, butter-side down, in the heated skillet.

  3. 3

Layer the turkey breast evenly over the bread in the skillet, then top with the two slices of Swiss cheese. Place the second slice of rye bread, butter-side up, on top of the cheese.

  4. 4

Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is thoroughly melted. Gently press down with a spatula occasionally to help the cheese melt and the sandwich toast evenly.

  5. 5

While the sandwich cooks, slice the apple into thin wedges.

  6. 6

Once cooked, carefully remove the melt from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately with the fresh apple slices on the side.
