Smoky Grilled Chicken Skewers

Ingredients

  • •400 grams chicken breast, boneless, skinless, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • •15 ml olive oil
  • •5 grams salt
  • •3 grams black pepper
  • •2 grams smoked paprika
  • •2 grams garlic powder
  • •2 grams onion powder
  • •Optional: A pinch of dried oregano for earthy aroma
  • •Optional: Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. 1

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning on the grill.

  2. 2

In a medium bowl, combine the chicken cubes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional dried oregano.

  3. 3

Toss thoroughly to ensure all chicken pieces are evenly coated with the seasoning mix, then let marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or longer in the refrigerator.

  4. 4

Thread the seasoned chicken cubes onto the soaked skewers, ensuring not to overcrowd them so they cook evenly.

  5. 5

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 200-230 degrees Celsius, and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.

  6. 6

Place the chicken skewers on the hot grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice char marks.

  7. 7

Continue grilling until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 74 degrees Celsius, typically 12-15 minutes total cooking time.

  8. 8

Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving, allowing the juices to settle for maximum tenderness and flavor.
