Hearty Baked Tuna and Mushroom Pasta

Ingredients

  • •Pasta
  • •Canned Tuna in oil
  • •Mushrooms
  • •Pasta sauce
  • •Tomatoes
  • •Olive oil
  • •Salt
  • •Black pepper
  • •Optional: Dried oregano for seasoning
  • •Optional: Garlic powder for flavor

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes, as it will continue cooking in the oven. Drain well.

  2. 2

While the pasta cooks, slice the mushrooms. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown and have released their moisture, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

Dice the tomatoes. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained pasta, sautéed mushrooms, pasta sauce, and drained tuna. Add the diced tomatoes, dried oregano, garlic powder, and a generous pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are well coated.

  4. 4

Transfer the pasta mixture into a small oven-safe baking dish. Spread it evenly.

  5. 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and bubbly.

  6. 6

Carefully remove the dish from the oven. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the sauce to set slightly.

  7. 7

Serve hot, perhaps with an extra sprinkle of black pepper.
