Instructions
- 1
Place the two large eggs carefully in a small saucepan. Cover the eggs with cold water by at least one inch.
- 2
Bring the water to a rolling boil over high heat. Once boiling, immediately reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let the eggs simmer gently for 10-12 minutes for firm, hard-boiled eggs.
- 3
While the eggs are simmering, slice the English muffin in half horizontally. Toast the English muffin halves in a toaster or under a broiler until golden brown and crispy.
- 4
Once the eggs are done, carefully remove them from the hot water using a slotted spoon and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes to stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel.
- 5
Peel the cooled hard-boiled eggs under cold running water or in the ice bath. Slice them in half or quarter them, then season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- 6
Spread butter generously on the toasted English muffin halves, then top with your preferred fruit jam. Serve the seasoned hard-boiled eggs alongside the English muffin and jam for a complete breakfast.
