Creamy Oatmeal with Berries and Milk

Combine rolled oats, milk, and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, for 5-7 minutes, or until the oats have absorbed most of the liquid and reached a creamy consistency. Be careful not to let it boil over.

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in maple syrup or honey, if using, until well combined.

Divide the creamy oatmeal into two serving bowls.
